The 2nd Annual Spring Fair to benefit the Forgotten Friends of Long Island Animal Rescue will be held this Saturday May 18, 2013 at Garden of Eve Organic Farm & Market, 10 AM - 5 PM. Admission is $3, ages 10 and under are free.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Carousel" will be playing at the North Fork Community Theater from May 16th through June 2nd on Thursday through Sundays. All shows are at 8PM except for Sunday matinees at 2:30PM. There will be free pre-show receptions on Thursdays starting at 7PM. The Long Island Fleece and Fiber Fair is the first of its kind in the region to bring together the diversity of fiber arts activities! Visitors will see and learn how local artisans craft wool and other animal fiber into beautiful finished pieces of clothing and art. The fair provides two fun-filled days of demonstrations and hands-on learning that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Visit both days for a variety of demonstrations, workshops and local artisans selling their handmade supplies and products in the Naugles Barn Fiber Market! Join the Riverhead Free Library Children's Department for Book and Tail, Reading to a specially trained and certified "therapy" dog helps struggling and young readers become less self conscious and more confident about oral reading in a relaxed, nonjudgmental environment. (20 minute sessions) Session 1- March 7,14,21 session 2-April 4,11,18 Each session counts as one program!

Thursday, May 23 through Sunday, May 26 - Carousel @ NFCT

Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Carousel" will be playing at the North Fork Community Theater from May 16th through June 2nd on Thursday through Sundays. All shows are at 8PM except for Sunday matinees at 2:30PM. There will be free pre-show receptions on Thursdays starting at 7PM. The receptions will be sponsored by The Market, in Greenport (5/16), Village Cheese Shop (5/23), and a wine tasting by Scarola Vineyards on 5/30.

Join us for a nighttime hike through the forest up to North Pond as we look and listen for nocturnal creatures, and enjoy some night vision activities under the light of the moon. The walk will last approximately 1 ½ hours.

The 17th Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival returns to downtown Riverhead


On Sunday, May 26, 2013 the 17th Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival will take place in downtown Riverhead on East Main Street between Roanoke Avenue and East Street, as well as on the grounds of East End Arts.

Admission to the festival is free.  Street painting artists are encouraged to register in advance to be assigned a sponsored square-all materials included! See registration form on their website.
