The Mattituck Yacht Club was started in 1910 and has operated continuously for 113 years. The club’s goal is to promote interest in sailing, seamanship and sportsmanship through educational and social programs for members. Sailing programs are held daily throughout the summer in which children learn to rig and sail sailboats, tie knots, and learn water safety.
The summer 2024 season runs from July 1st through August 23rd. All sailors ages 5-18 will learn to sail on a variety of different types of boats including: Optis, Sunfish, and 420’s (according to their ability). Instructors will assign sailors to boats each day during lessons.
