Pickleball is the newest and most exciting sport in town. It's a game that everyone can play, young and old alike. With its easy-to-learn rules and funny name, it's no wonder that Pickleball is quickly becoming the fastest-growing sport in Canada.
Played on a badminton-sized court with rectangular racquets and a wiffle-type ball, Pickleball is a game that requires skill and strategy. It can be played as a singles game or a doubles game, making it a versatile and fun activity for all.
The game is played in six sections, with the non-volley area or the kitchen on each side of the net. The net is 36” high at the ends and 34” high in the middle, creating a perfect playing field for the game.
To begin playing, the server stands behind the baseline in the bottom right-hand corner facing the net. The serve is made by hitting the ball underhand with the racquet just below the waist without bouncing the ball. The opposing player must let the ball bounce before hitting it back. The ball must then bounce one more time before volleys can be made, making it a fair game for all players.
The first side that scores 11 points when leading by at least two points wins. And with sets of rackets, pickleball balls, and nets sold online, you can have your own game ready to go at a moment's notice.
Pickleball is not just a game, it's a fun and exciting way to stay active and healthy. It's perfect for families, friends, and communities looking for a new and engaging sport to try. So what are you waiting for? Grab your racquets and balls and head to the court for a game of Pickleball today!
