I love comedy shows, especially at small venues. So, when I saw that the Riverhead Moose Lodge was hosting Terry Perrett, I was so excited. He is a well-known hypnotist and comedian. He has been on TV and shows even in Las Vegas.

If you don't know or are not familiar with the Riverhead Moose Lodge, they are #1742 and right here in Riverhead on Madison St. (Right next to the Peconic River). During the summer, the Lodge offers a large bar, a beautiful ballroom with expansive river views, boat slips, and perfect RV rental spots! Their calendar has exciting and fun activities, like comedy shows, Bingo, "Wine Down" nights, afternoon tea, auctions, bands, trivia nights, and line dancing.
So, in the pouring rain last night, we ventured out to see Terry Perrett at the Lodge. We were greeted at the door by a sweet young man who held the door open, along with a lovely welcome greeting. We went up the stairs to the venue, were welcomed nicely, and escorted to our seats. The members of the Lodge have their bar and restaurant, which is beautiful. I wished we were members! Everyone we interacted with was incredibly accommodating and genuinely kind, and we wanted to become members ASAP. (we were given the paperwork and website info to join) We thought, what an excellent place to hang out, see shows, and make new friends in the area. (And we had the BEST NACHOS EVER!!)

The show, open to the public, was set to start at 7, and it did, strictly at 7. Terry entered the floor/stage area and explained what would happen next. He was already funny, and everyone laughed in anticipation. Terry promised to keep it "clean," unlike some Vegas shows. He asked for 16 volunteers to sit in the chairs set up on stage. In no time, the chairs were all filled. He began, and we waited for the magic to happen to the people on stage. He encouraged those in their seats to follow as they could be hypnotized.
After the first part of the hypnosis, he let some leave the stage. The rest stayed on for the next steps. Even though I was not hypnotized, it was extremely relaxing and easy to visualize and follow his prompts. For a few, he mentioned that hypnotizing can rejuvenate you as much as an incredible 8 hours of sleep.
In the end, there were 3 people left on stage, and they appeared to be genuinely under hypnosis. He had them act out skits as if they were on American Idol. It was hysterical, and they did what was asked and responded as he suggested.
The show was funny and well-planned out for the crowd. I loved the act, the venue, and the Moose Lodge members and staff. Not only will we be back to attend shows and events, but we will also likely become Moose members. No matter what, you must check them out on FB and see all the discounts and fun they have offered.
